Tamil Nadu State Board SSLC Examination 2016 results have been announced. Tamil Nadu Board SSC Class 10th exams were held from March 19 and ended on April 10, 2016. Candidates who sat in the Tamil Nadu public SSC 2016 examination can check their results on the official website of the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination i.e. http://dge.tn.gov.in or http://tnresults.nic.in, www.tn.gov.in/dge, and http://dge.tn.nic.in

In 2015, around 10,38,876 students from 11,552 schools in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry appeared in the examination in 3,179 centers arranged by Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination. In 2013, around 10,51,062 students took the examination via the schools.

A total of 7,31,430 students wrote the examination in Tamil language and around 74,647 students appeared as private candidates. In th year 2013, 89 per cent of the students through schools passed the examination. More than 29 thousand scored full marks  in mathematics, 38 thousand in science, and 19 thousand in social science. The Tamil Nadu SSLC or Class 10 board exam 2016 saw girls outshining boys. In 2015, Tamil Nadu class 10 board exam has recorded a pass percentage of 90.7 per cent and 19 students got the first rank, 125 students got the second rank and 321 students got the third rank. The SSLC results of Private candidates are not available online, and they can get their TN SSLC results through respective examination centres.

This year in 2016 also, over 10 lakh students attempted the Tamil Nadu SSLC exam 2016. The SSLC examinations start at 9.15 a.m. and gets over at 12 noon. Students are allotted 10 minutes time until 9.25 a.m. to go through the question paper. Candidates can check their details in the 'Top Sheet'. Though Tamil Nadu State Board Class X SSLC exams 2016 timing early by 45 minutes is not appreciated by students, teachers and parents.

Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education has announced the Class 12 HSC exam results 2016. Students can check their results online through the official websites of Tamil Nadu Board. Students can also access TN Class 12 results 2016 on their mobile phone by SMS. To check the Tamil Nadu Class 12 results 2016 online, students must enter their registration number and date of birth and click submit to display the TN Results. Results by sms can be accessed by typing "tnboard<blank>regno,date_of_birth" and send to 09282232585 (or) +919282232585 for example tnboard 123456,01/04/1995 The date of birth should be in the format of dd/mm/yyyy. TN Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results or Tamil Nadu State Board HSC exam 2016 results had been awaited by students since a long time. The Tamil Nadu Board examinations 2016 for HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) started from March 5 with the Tamil Paper I and ended on March 31 with Biology, History, Botany and Business Maths. Around 8.26 lakh candidates appeared for the Tamil Nadu Class 12 exams 2016 from more than 408 higher secondary schools at 143 exam centres in Chennai. Of the total 8.26 lakh candidates, 4.45 lakh girls sat in the exam whereas the boys were too less, 3.80 lakh boys appeared in the exam. 90.06 per cent of the students having appeared in the Tamil Nadu board HSC (Class 12) exam have passed. Number of students appearing in the Tamil Nadu Class 12th exam has increased by 26,604 candidates. More than five lakh students wrote the examination papers in Tamil language.

Only those students who opted for Tamil as the first language have been considered for the official rank list.

Last year in 2015, Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exams 2014 was topped by a girl named Sushanti from Krishnagiri district securing first rank with 1,193 marks. The second rank holder is also a girl, Alamelu from Dharmapuri district scoring 1,192 marks missing the first rank by merely 1 mark and two students got the third rank - D. Thulasi Rajan from Namakkal district and S. Nithya from Chennai district with 1,191 marks each.

Erode district of Tamil Nadu got first position in terms of pass percentage of 97.6 per cent followed by Nammakal 96.59 per cent and then Virushunagar district with 96.12 per cent. Tiruvannamalai district got minimum pass percentage of only 74.40 per cent.

Mathematics proved the most scoring subject with around 3,882 students scoring 100 per cent marks 2,403 students in General Maths and 605 in Business Mathematics. 2,710 students got full marks in Chemistry, 2,581 students got full marks in Economics and 1,693 students got full marks in Physics.

Last year, Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Education made some significant changes like pre-filled top sheet with details already inscribed on them replacing manually filled plain answer sheets, the number of pages in the answer sheet were increased to 38, the top sheet were replaced with a barcode before being sent for correction.
